Our Mr Palin will be the fee-earner for this work so that our hourly rate applicable to the work is £264 inc VAT. For debt collection and Private residential eviction of tenant work will normally be conducted on a fixed fee basis. Typically fees up to the obtaining of Judgment will be £1500 inc VAT with a further £900 inc VAT for obtaining a suitable form of Enforcement. In addition court fees must be paid. These are now substantial eg for a claim for a debt of between £3000 and £5000 a fee on Money Claim Online is £205 and £455 for a claim between £5000 and £10000 and a court fee of 5% of the claim value over £10,000. We also advise on employment law and regularly advise on employee’s rights in respect of wrongful and unfair dismissal. This is now almost always in the context of Compromise Agreements where the employer pays a fixed fee of £300 -£600 inc VAT. If some negotiation is required to improve the terms of this, we will sometimes have to charge a little more in accordance with our solicitor’s hourly rate of £264 inc VAT or our Associate solicitor’s hourly rate of £192 inc VAT.
